William B Maroma, M D, better known to close friends and family as “Doc” or “Bill”, 82, of Shreveport, Louisiana, died August 26, 2019 after a lengthy illness.

Bill was born in Cabatuan in the Province of Iloilo in the Philippines on July 21, 1937. He graduated from the University of Santo Thomas in Manila, Philippines in 1962 with a degree in Medicine. Soon after, he embarked on his journey to the United States to pursue his career in Internal Medicine.

He was very dedicated to his family and his work, but also made it a point to travel extensively throughout the US as well as internationally. He was a loyal New Orleans Saints fan, cheered for the Boston Celtics, and never missed a Manny Pacquaio fight. He was also an avid gardener who was passionate about maintaining his gardens year-round.

Bill is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lorna Seludo Maroma, his daughter Olivia and husband Blake Shelby, his son William and wife Angelia Maroma, daughter Christine and husband Josh Cheney, and six granddaughters: Sydney, Cassidy, Paige, Brooke, Sophia and Hannah. He is also survived by his two brothers, Jose and Robert and several nephews, nieces, cousins and close friends.

Visitation will be held at Aulds Funeral Home in Shreveport on Saturday, August 31st from 9am-11am. Funeral Mass will follow at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Shreveport at 1pm.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the LSU Health Shreveport Feist-Weiller Cancer Center.
