Shreveport - Services honoring the life of Mr. Calvin Ray James, Sr., 58, will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Winnfield Funeral Home, with Rev. Everett L. Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park-West Cemetery.
Calvin was born December 22, 1959, in Shreveport, LA, and entered his eternal rest on Monday, September 3, 2018. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a 1977 graduate of Green Oaks High School. He retired from LifeShare Blood Center after 30 years of dedicated service as a product management technician. He married Revreda D. Gilliam in 1986 and together they raised two sons, Calvin Ray James, Jr. and Joshua Emanuel James.
Calvin will be remembered as a man devoted to his family and as a true friend willing to help anyone in need. He loved family get-togethers, barbecuing, farming, and his favorite pastime, fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin James and Gertrude Harden James, and in addition to his wife and sons, his memory will be lovingly cherished by daughter Kimberly Pradia, grandchildren Chad Pradia, Jr. and Chasá Pradia; sisters Demetra James Nichols and Tezeno Lynette Roberson, and numerous other family and friends.
