Lane Townsend, age 59, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, after a lengthy illness. He was a lifelong resident of Shreveport, LA. Rickie Lane Townsend and his twin sister were born, on February 19, 1957 to John Hardy Townsend and Gladys Louise Mobley.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at the Shreveport Pentecostals Church located at 3001 Meriwether Road. Pastor Kent Greer is officiating. In lieu of flowers, please donate in his memory to Shreveport Pentecostals Church.

The four things Lane loved and enjoyed most in his life were God, his family, motorcycles, and auto body work. He was a member of Shreveport Pentecostals Church. He was beloved and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was an avid motorcycle rider. He was blessed to have a career he loved as an auto body mechanic at Hebert's Town and Country.

Lane will be greatly missed by the family he leaves behind. He is survived by his wife Peggy Denise Townsend. He was a loving father of two sons Nick Townsend and spouse Tracey, and Matthew Townsend. He was a beloved step-father of two step-sons and five step-daughters. His step-sons were Joshua Nutt and spouse Jessica, and Eric Nutt, and spouse Anni. His step-daughters were Melissa Stockton and spouse Michael, Michelle Lott and spouse Britt, Vanessa Conley and spouse Bennie, Jennifer Galbraith, Jessica Dison and spouse Michael. He was an adoring and doting grandfather to 13 grandchildren. He is also survived by three of his siblings, his twin sister Vickie Jane Duhon and her husband Hoy, and two brothers Shelby Townsend and spouse Toni, and Rodney Townsend. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Deaninne Dean, and Linda Ortego, step-son Jeffrey Galbraith, and grandson Nicholas
