SHREVEPORT, Louisiana – Mr John William Wessler, Sr, 79, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Monday, December 15, 2014 at Osborn Funeral Home. Mass will held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 16th, at St Joseph Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, St Vincent Avenue.

Mr Wessler was a native of Flushing, New York and a resident of Shreveport for fifty years. He was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church, 4th Degree, and ELKS Lodge # 122. He retired from the U S Postal Service and was a veteran of the U S Army.

Mr Wessler was preceded in death by parents Katherine and Rudolph; and sister Joan. He is survived by wife Beverly Roppolo Wessler; son Johnny W Wessler, Jr; daughters Jeanne Soboul, Jerri Logan and husband, Mike; mother of his children Harriet Kappen; step-daughter Dana Yelverton; grandchildren Trey Wessler and Jaime Baker, Lauren, Lindsey and Beau Soboul, Drew and Alexandra Logan, Dakota, Camden and Kaylee Scoggins; great-grandchildren, Madison Soboul, Bennett, Campbell Hays and Evie Baker.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Broadmoor Council.

The family requests that memorials be made to the National Tuberous Sclerosis Foundation/Alliance.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Charles Hargon and Willis Knighton Hospice.

John will be remembered for his love and dedication to his family and will be deeply missed.
