CARENCRO ~ Funeral services will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 at a 1:30 p.m. Liturgy of the Word in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Paul Lee, age 92, who passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette. The Rev. Mark Ledoux, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.

Musical selections will be provided by Valerie Andrus. The songs will be J'Irai La Voir Un Jour, Amazing Grace, Just A Closer Walk With Thee, and Notre Pere.

Mr. Lee was a native of Point Blue and a lifelong resident of Carencro. A devout Catholic, he was a parishioner of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church having been a member of the Bonne Mort Society and Knights of Columbus. Paul was the successful owner and operator of Lee's Hardware and Grocery since 1973. A veteran of the military, Mr. Lee proudly served his country in the United States Army after completing basic training in Bennings, GA and Fort Polk.

Survivors include one son, Kent A. Lee (Jo Anne) of Carencro; one daughter, Cynthia Marie Lee Menard (Chris) of Carencro; six grandsons, Toby Lee, Cory Lee, Brady Lee (Tina), Spencer Menard (Cassie), Grant Menard, and Lance Menard; ten great grandchildren, Alexandra Laidlaw, Caleb Paul Lee, Caroline Lee, Maggie Mae Menard, Whitney A. Menard, Layni P. Menard, Kayleigh M. Menard, Drew Lance Menard, Collin M. Menard, and Adelle Grayce Ganczak (daughter of Grant Menard); one brother, Joseph Edward Lee of Ville Platte; and one sister, Juanita Jane Israel of New Orleans.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-six years, Mary Odile "Della Mae" Bergeron; one brother, Theogene Lee; and one sister, Dorothy Buller.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Friday until service time on Friday.

Pallbearers will be his six grandsons.
