CARENCRO - Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Crystal "Tia" Vining, age 35, who passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette.
Crystal was a native of Bayou Vista, where she lived until the age of 16. She then moved to Cecilia, where she graduated with honors from Cecilia High School in 1995. She was a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana, Class of 2000, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in History, later earning her Master's Degree in 2002. Crystal earned her teaching certification in Social Studies in 2005 and a degree in Library Science in 2010. Crystal loved her dog children, her nephews, her family and anyone she ever met. She lived an innocent life to the fullest. She was very passionate about history, writing, quilting, cooking and her heritage. She recently started to come out of her shell and show the world how brilliant, loving and selfless she truly was. She was a very loyal employee who was dedicated to her job and considered her coworkers family. Crystal was her daddy's little girl and her momma's brain. There is no one else like her. She was an Angel on earth and now she earned her wings to fly.
Survivors include her mother, Kathleen Daigle Vining of Cecilia; her maternal grandfather, James C. Daigle of Lafayette Parish; two sisters, Danielle Vining and her wife, Season, of Baton Rouge, Dannie Lynn Vining and her fiancé, Mark Courville, of Cecilia; three nephews, Barry "B.J." Abshire, Jr., Gavin J. Abshire and Kohen W. Roger; and her beloved dogs, Chi Chi and Isabelle.
She was preceded in death by her father, Danny Joseph Vining; her maternal grandmother, Nolia Meche Daigle; her paternal grandparents, Earl Vining and the former, Una Toups; one nephew, Maddix Roger; and her fur babies Acadie and Beau.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
