LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Philadelphia Christian Church for Joseph O Briscoe, 68, who passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017. Omar Thibeaux, Pastor at Philadelphia Christian Church, will officiate the ceremony. Interment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
Joseph was survived by daughters Melissa Prejean and companion Alvin Noel of Maurice, Dekesha Grannum of Atlanta, Georgia and Shamika Briscoe of Lafayette; sons Albert Sloane Prejean and wife Shannon of Carencro, Kendall Briscoe and companion LaDasha of Lafayett, and Brandon Briscoe and wife Eugenie of Milton; brothers Melvin Briscoe, Jr of Houston & wife Helena, Anvil Briscoe of Lafayette, John Carroll Briscoe of Atlanta, Georgia & wife Enola. and Gerald Briscoe of Sunset & wife Carol; sisters Enola Kimini of Nirobia Kenya, Africa, Cora Mae Manuel of Lake Charles & husband Barnell, Sadie T Rideau of Lafayette, Winella Briscoe of Sunset, Louise Harvey of Amite (late husband Floyd), Sandra Faye Des of Dayton, Ohio & husband Kerry, Sr and Sharon Wheeler of Sunset & husband Eddie, 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by wife Sylvia; parents Louise M Briscoe and Melvin Briscoe, Sr; grandson Tyreal Jamal Briscoe and brother Leroy Briscoe, Sr.
The family requests that visitation hours be observed Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Philadelphia Christian Church 8:00 am until services at 11:00 am.
