Lafayette - Funeral services for David George Kay, 60, will be held Thursday November 3, 2016 at 1:00 PM in David Funeral Home, with Father Bill Ruskoski associate Pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 11:30 AM until time of service, with a Rosary recited at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

David a native of El Paso TX, and a resident of Livingston TX was a hard working, honorable, and compassionate man with very strong convictions. He loved life, family, and friends. He had a passion for cooking, wine and a cigar on occasion. In his younger years he enjoyed snow skiing, deep sea fishing, and golf. His favorite dogs were Boxers in which he loved and cared for throughout his life. David loved Texas, but was sometimes saddened, because he was not closer to his family. He had a great love and respect for his parents George "Pop" and Dorothy "Mom" and often shared many wonderful memories of his life as an army brat.

David was fortunate to have lived in many different places throughout his life. He lived in many cities in the U.S., Germany, Italy, and Northern Mariana Islands. His daughter Sasha was born in Karlsruhe, Germany and his son Dalton was born in Vincenza, Italy. David was a loving husband who loved his wife Susie whom he met in Broussard, LA and soon after moved to Texas. They recently bought a farm/ranch in Livingston, TX. where they were fulfilling their dream of living in the country, off of the land. David was a proud father and adored his children. They brought real joy and love to his life. He loved them with all of his heart and often spoke of them with a love only a proud father knows. He was employed by Baker Hughes for 10 years, before the oil industry, his career was in the Hotel / Resort industry and owned several restaurants. A graduate of Nurnberg American High School and attended University of Phoenix, Purdue University and Sushi Academy of California. David passed away October 24, 2016 at Methodist Hospital in Houston TX, where he was comforted by his wife Susie and sister in law Donna Tacy who were by his side throughout his stay in the hospital.

David is survived by his wife JoAnna "Susie" Mouton; his daughter Sasha Kay; son Dalton Kay; mother of his children Judith Kay; David is the step father of Jamie, Joy, Jenna, and Jessica Mouton . He loved and had great respect for them and welcomed them into his life with open arms. He is also survived by his three grandchildren Lindsay Kai, Mouton and Zackary Steward.

David was preceded in death by his parents Lt. Colonel George V. and Dorothy Wargo Kay; his sister Barbara Alton and her husband Dave Alton; and his stepson Jamie Mouton.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dalton Kay, Todd Alton, Joe Lukascyk, Matt Steward, Stephen Sarkies, and Zachary Steward

David's family wishes to give special thank you to our family, friends, and David's co-workers for all their love and support.
