Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home for Dion Mliczek, 63, who passed away June 10, 2021. Dustin Gibson of The Point Church and Richard Meche of Christian Life Center will conduct the funeral services. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include wife Julie Andrus Mliczek of Lafayette; father Edmund Mliczek, Sr of Middlesex, New Jersey; daughters Brandy (Dustin) Gibson of Duson and Danielle (Chance) Angelle of Sunset; step-daughter Blair Broussard of New Orleans, step-sons, Ty (Brenda) Broussard of League City, Texas and Jordan (Steve Santayana) Broussard of Dallas; brother Edmund "Skip" (Cathie) Mliczek, Jr of Fairfield Glade, New Jersey and grandchildren Logan Angelle, Audrey Angelle, Anna Angelle, Luke Gibson, Nathan Gibson and Elianna Broussard. He was preceded in death by his mother, Acquline Mliczek.
Dion was born in Plainfield, New Jersey and spent the last forty years in Lafayette. He was employed by the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier. He delivered mail to the Oil Center and W Bayou Parkway areas.
Dion was a member of the United States Air Force.
Pallbearers will be Chance Angelle, Dustin Gibson, Skip Mliczek, Logan Angelle, Ty Broussard and Chris Wadlington. Honorary Pallbearers are Luke Gibson and Jordan Broussard.
The family requests that visitation be held Monday between the hours of 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and resume Tuesday at 9:00 am until services.
