Company E 4th Louisiana Confederate Engineer Troops was formerly known as 1st Battalion Engineer Troops. His name appeared on a Roll of Prisoners of War after Confederate troops surrendered in New Orleans, Louisiana, on May 26, 1865. He was paroled in Natchitoches, Louisiana, on June 10, 1865.
