A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013, 10:00 AM at St. Genevieve Catholic Church for Wilbert Derousselle, 48. He will be buried in Calvary Cemetery.

Wilbert Derousselle Sr. was born on April 23, 1964, in Lafayette, LA to the late Bernard Derousselle and Vergis Derousselle. He passed away on January 6, 2013 at Lafayette General Hospital. Mr. Derousselle dedicated his life to the horse racing industry.

He is survived by his wife Crystal, two sons, Brison Thibodeaux of Lafayette, LA; Wilbert Derousselle Jr. of Breaux Bridge, LA; three daughters, Daniella Glaude and Arielle Thibodeaux both of Lafayette, LA; Kaysha Derousselle of Breaux Bridge, LA; two grandchildren A’maya and Da’lyn Citizen; his mother Vergis Derousselle of Lafayette, LA; four brothers, Peter (Tammy) Derousselle and Harry (Demitra) Derousselle both of Breaux Bridge, LA; David Derousselle of Scott, LA; Joseph Derousselle of Lafayette, LA; seven sisters, Doris Derousselle of New Orleans, LA; Sarah Derousselle of Breaux Bridge, LA; Betty Landry, Barbara Glagcow, Mary Derousselle, Rachel (Patrick) Landor, and Joann Mudd all of Lafayette, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Wilbert is preceded in death by his father Bernard Derousselle; three brothers Patrick Derousselle, Gregory Derousselle, and Joseph Calais; one niece Tatayana Derousselle; his grandparents Sidney and Lorena Glaude Clay, Norbert and Antoinette Derousselle; and uncles and aunts.

Viewing will be Friday, January 11, 2013 from 5-9 PM and resume Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 7-9:30 AM at Kinchen Funeral Home.
