He enlisted April 5, 1933 and died May 13, 1945 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. He was re-interred in Welcome Home Cemetery on August 18, 1949. Victory in Europe (VE) Day was May 8, 1945, so it is unclear as to how he died. The United States National Cemetery Interment Control Form listed the cemetery for burial as the National Cemetery in Alexandria, Louisiana.
