The 1966 Mer Rouge "Red Wave" Yearbook was dedicated to her.
"It is with pride that the Red Wave Staff dedicates the 1966 Yearbook to Miss Ellen Faris. For thirty-two years she taught in the Mer Rouge School System, all the while giving unselfishly of her time and efforts for the betterment of the school and her pupils."
