Joseph Daniel Foil, born February 28, 1927, age 81, and a resident of Franklinton, Louisiana died at 1:00 AM Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home. He was a 17 year veteran of the US Navy and served during World War II with the MSTS (Military Transportation). After retirement from the military, he worked offshore as a ballast control technician for Diamond M Drilling Company.

Survived by two daughters, Kitty F Simmons of Mt Hermon, Louisiana; Dawn F Brock of Osyka, Mississipi; granddaughter, Kimberly G Roberts of Mobile, Alabama; great-granddaughter, Molly Lee Roberts; sisters, Mary Holmes of Osyka, Joan Simmons of Mt Hermon, and Sharon Corkern of Enon, Louisiana .

He was preceded in death by his wife Jessie Mae Foil and his parents Daniel A and Ozzie Passman Foil.
