November 23, 1920 - July 28, 2005
Walter Levon Watson, age 84, died at 11:45 a.m. yesterday at his residence in Enon. He was the former owner of Watson Spreader Service then worked for Dowell offshore. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church, Zona Masonic Lodge, F&AM, and a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lorese Jones Watson of Enon; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Karen Mizell Watson of Springhill; a daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Greg Garic of Rio; three grandchildren, Brandi Watson, Abby Garic and Marcy Garic; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty and Stanley Pittman of Baton Rouge, Mona Jones and Maudine Honea, both of Franklinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Maude Magee Watson; two brothers, George, Jr. and William "Bill" Watson; and one sister, Shirley Ruth Watson.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. today, with Masonic rites at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at 9 a.m. tomorrow until time for the funeral at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Dr. Edmond Long will officiate with burial following in the Springhill Magee Cemetery.
