Funeral Services for Mr. Howard Cowden, 50, of West Monroe, LA, will be 10:00 AM Thursday, October 16, 2014, at Ouachita Baptist Church in West Monroe with Dr. Dennis R. Hensley, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Cheniere Baptist Church Cemetery in West Monroe under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home in West Monroe.

Mr. Cowden was born December 14, 1963 in Monroe, LA and passed from this life on October 13, 2014 in West Monroe, LA. He was a member of Ouachita Baptist Church, where he served as an usher, welcome team member, and van rider.

Mr. Cowden is preceded in death by his father, Howard "Buster" Cowden; maternal and paternal grandparents; and nephew, Doug Marble.

Survivors include his mother, Gracey Cowden of Oak Grove, LA; three brothers, Bert Cowden of Oak Grove, LA, Jesse Cowden and wife Donna of Lykens, PA, Frank Cowden of Mandeville, LA; five sisters, Nellie Ainsworth and husband Ronnie of Oak Grove, LA, Sarah Goode and husband Paul of Monroe, Ruthie Marble and husband Berryman of Mer Rouge, LA, Sally Jinks and husband Garry of Oak Grove, LA, Sadie Crosby of Truxton, MO; 24 nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and nephews; step-children, Christina Ates and Ashely Ates of West Monroe, LA; and special friend, Susan Pace.

Pallbearers will be G.W. Jinks, Jesse Cowden, Matt Marble, Frank Cowden, Joey Muirhead, and Stacey Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bert Cowden and Curtis Corbin.

In Lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Ouachita Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Griffin Funeral Home in West Monroe.
