Elbert Willie Thomas, age 69 and a resident of Thomas died at 2:45 AM Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Riverside Medical Center.
He was a deacon of Thomas Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish and was a member of the Magnolia Crappie Club; he also enjoyed farming and growing watermelons.
Survived by: Wife: Eloise Spears Thomas of Thomas, 1 Daughter: Valerie Jordan of Thomas, 3 Sons and a daughter in law: LaQuinn Thomas, Lester and Janet Thomas, Elton Thomas all of Thomas, 2 Sisters and a brother in law: Wilda and Bobby Thomas of Magnolia, MS, Audrey Powell of Baton Rouge, 7 Grandchildren: Kristen Seay, Heather Freeman, Blake Thomas, Alan Thomas, Hannah Jordan, Josh Thomas, Adam Thomas, 8 Great grandchildren: McKayla Jordan, Sadie Rozinek, Nathan Rozinek, Evan Seay, Rylan Freeman, Harrison Freeman, Preston Freeman, Dylan Richie
He was preceded in death by his parents William Will and Cordia Thomas, 2 sisters Eva Cooper and Waver Jones, and 2 brothers William Thomas and Oreese Thomas.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home from 6 PM until 10 PM Wednesday, September 24, 2008 and after 9 AM Thursday, September 25, 2008. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, September 25, 2008 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Denny Brumfield, Rev. Roddy Conerly and Cody Thomas. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery.
