SHREVEPORT, LA - Services to honor the life of Edgar Lee Lentz, 90, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. John Harp of Brookwood Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive guests on Friday evening between the hours of 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr Lentz was born in Kalmia, NC on October 16, 1921, to the late Edgar A and Florence H Lentz and passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011. He was a wonderful man who along with being a devoted husband; was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.

Mr Lentz served his country in the US Navy for six years and was stationed on a repair ship. Upon discharge he continued his education at Louisiana Tech and later became an electrical engineer and was employed with Texas Eastern Gas Transmission Corp. Mr Lentz was also a faithful member of Brookwood Baptist Church. During his years of service he not only was a deacon but also a Sunday School Teacher & Sunday School Director. Mr Lentz was a member of IEEE Professional Organization, VFW, American Legion and DAV.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Patton; brother, Dr. Ken Lentz, Sr.; and his parents. Left to cherish his memory is wife of 65 years, Mrs. Nelwynn Lentz; sons, Martin Lentz and wife, Peggy and Randy Lentz and wife, Linda; aunt, Frankie Hall; nephew, Dr Ken J Lentz, Jr; grandchildren, Sabrina Flor and husband, John, Chrissie Williams and husband, Josh, Ashley Lentz and fiance', Kevin, Justin Haag and wife, Sharon, Nicole Nicksic and husband, Steve, and Jeffrey Lentz and Amber; twelve great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; several cousins and extended family.

Honoring Mr Lentz as pallbearers are Jeffrey Lentz, Justin Haag, Steve Nicksic, Richard Sutton, John Sutton and Stephen Sutton. Honorary pallbearers are the members of Winners Circle Life Group Sunday school class and Brenda's Traveling Group.
