The Church and Cemetery are located off of LA Hwy 389 south of Merryville, La. Take LA Hwy 389 south for 18 1/5 miles to the stop sign where the road tees. LA Hwy 389 makes a turn east (left), Old River Road is on the right. Turn on to Old River Road and then immediately turn left on to Brushy Creek Church Road , Brushy Creek Baptist Church is a 1/5 mile on the right. The cemetery is behind the Brushy Creek Baptist Church and is surrounded by woods. There is one big old oak tree in the center of the cemetery. The birds singing in the woods, the shrubbery, a dogwood tree, and the wild sunflowers and other wild flowers make this a unique place. Brushy Creek Cemetery has a "working" twice a year (second Saturday in May and second Saturday in September).
