Funeral services for Mr. William Marion "Little Bud" McConnell, age 80, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Casper officiating. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be held beginning at 1:00 p.m. Thursday until service time.

Mr. McConnell was born on July 10, 1934 to William Richard and Mary Elsie Cothran McConnell in Bastrop, LA and passed away Monday, March 30, 2015 in Marshall, TX. He was a former resident of Ollie, LA. He was a member of Central Baptist Church; was a graduate of Springhill High School class of 1953 and a graduate of Northwestern LA University in 1957. He taught Industrial Art at LaSalle High School for 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to hunt turkeys, quail, deer, ducks and loved to fish. He was a professional cabinet maker. He was loved by his family and a host of friends and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by three brothers, Richard Marvin McConnell of W. Monroe, LA, Melvin Wade McConnell and wife, Virginia of Marshall, TX, Michael Robert "Mike" McConnell and wife, Shirley of Lake Erling, AR; special and loyal friends, Jane and Gary Copp, Gary, Lennie, and Ray Lynn Hatten; Whit and Debbie Thompson and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. McConnell was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Gary Hatten, Zac McConnell, Jay McConnell, Kenny McConnell, Chris McConnell and Jacob McConnell. An honorary pallbearer will be Whit Thompson.
