Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie Rita Gail Holden, age 65, will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 21, 2015, at the Unity Baptist Church, Cotton Valley, LA with Bro. Gene Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Cotton Valley Cemetery, under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Cotton Valley.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 20, 2015, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Unity Baptist Church, Cotton Valley.
Mrs. Holden was born on April 4, 1949 to Roy Horace and Ruby Joyce Slack Brown in Cotton Valley, LA and passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 in Shreveport, LA. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church; she was a retired RN with 25 years of service and will be remembered as a loving wife, daughter, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Linwood Dennis Holden; daughter, Shannon H. Striplin and husband, Jason; son, Clinton Richard Holden and wife, Tracy; sister, Peggy Coleman and husband, Robert; brother, Dennis Flowers all of Cotton Valley, LA; her mother, Ruby Slack Brown Beene of Sarepta, LA; seven grandchildren, Jaden Striplin, Stormie Striplin, April Holden, Sky Holden and Abigail Holden; special grandsons Keith Knighton and Kody Bissell; special daughter, Marie Bissell; many nieces, nephews and personal friends.
Mrs. Holden was preceded in death by her father, Roy Horace Brown, brother, Richard Flowers, Jr., and sister, Juania Flowers.
Pallbearers will be Adam Coleman, Michael Smith, Tim Carson, Bubba Dillard, Chris Bass, Roy Bass, Randy Wells, Kenny Joe Wells, Donnie Nealy and Nicholas Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Jaden Striplin.
