Mooringsport - Edward Clifton MacArthur, passed away at home surrounded by family Thursday, December 17, 2020, age 81. He went to meet his Lord face to face and conquered his battle with Alzheimer's. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 PM Monday, December 21, 2020 at Mooringsport Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mooringsport, Louisiana, officiated by Chris Christy, Pastor of Mooringsport United Methodist Church. There will be a time of visitation from 6-8 PM Sunday, December 20th at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian, Louisiana.

Edward was born September 15, 1939 in New Iberia, LA. Edward served in the US Army as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Artillery Division. Edward was a welder by trade. He worked on the Alaskan Pipeline and offshore for many years before returning and retiring from UOP after 24 years as a welder in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Mooringsport United Methodist Church, and a Past-Master and Treasurer of the Mooringsport Masonic Lodge.

Edward met and married the love of his life, Dorothy Randall MacArthur. They were married for 55 years. He is survived by two daughters, Lori MacArthur Simpson and LeAnn MacArthur Baudoin (husband: Justin), Granddaughter, Ashley Anderson (husband: James), Grandson, Dakota Hearod (wife: Catherine), Great-grandchildren, Ayden Anderson, Emma Anderson, Troy Hearod, Brother, Oliver Peden (wife: Patricia), several nieces, nephews, and his faithful yellow lab, Jessie, who was constantly by his side.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Beulah MacArthur.

Pallbearers will be James Alexander, Murray Moore, Bruce Walker, Gayland Patterson, Justin Baudoin, and Dakota Hearod.

Honorary pallbearers are members of the Mooringsport Masonic Lodge and Raymond Whatley, a life-long hunting buddy.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for their support and kindness.
