Reverend William Richard Stowell, beloved husband, father, grandfather, pastor and minister to many, went to be with his heavenly father on September 24, 2010. Bro. Bill lived his life with only one purpose, to serve his Lord and Savior and see that others would come to know Jesus as well.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Dan Hall officiating and Lynn Clayton and Don Rogers assisting. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Southside on Sunday afternoon, September 26th at 3:00 p.m.
Serving only three churches in his lifetime, Bro. Bill loved Emmanuel Baptist Church where he pastored for the last 51 years. The Mexican Indian Training Center in Cordoba, Mexico was a special love of his heart.
He is survived by his precious wife of 58 years, Patty; son, Mike and wife, Patti; daughter, Sandy McDowell and husband, Rob; and son, Pascal and wife, Amy. Surviving siblings are sisters, Martha and husband, Paul Cowan, Libby and husband, Bill O'Donnell, and Ruth Stowell. Pepaw had eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dr. Bo Worley, Bob Griffin, Brad Edwardes, and the deacons of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
The family would like to express our deep gratitude to Dr. Tommy Brown, Dr. Timothy Nicholls, and the nurses and staff of Willis-Knighton North and WK ECC for their compassionate and loving care of our dad.
The family suggest memorials be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Church building fund.
"For me to live is Christ and to die is gain."
