John Wade Swallows, Sr. passed away on April 28, 2014 at age 74. Born in Pikeville, TN on August 27, 1939, he loved trucks, collecting model cars and eagle figures. He was a tough man with a heart of gold.

Surviving him in death is his wife of 53 years, Sharon Rose Swallows, three sons; James Swallows, Jr. and wife Teresa; Wade Swallows and wife Heather; and Lucas Swallows and wife Jackie and step-daughter Nola Medllin; one daughter, Gladys Swallows Starr and husband Ronnie; 16 grandkids, 39 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his son, Prenell A Swallows; mother Gladys Wade Swallows; father, John M. Swallows; 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Forest Park Funeral Home and visitation will be held in the Wellman's Memorial Chapel from 8:30am until 1:00pm prior to service. Services will begin at 1:00pm with interment immediately after at Forest Park West Cemetery.
