James Patrick Bodenheimer, born March 11, 1947 in Shreveport, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from respiratory complications. He was the son of G.M. Bodenheimer and Elizabeth Clohosey Bodenheimer. He graduated from Jesuit High School, first in his class, attended Tulane University on a Congressional scholarship graduating with a BS in political science, and finished at LSU Law School first in his class. Jim practiced law in Shreveport from 1972 to the present. He was involved in both preparing and evaluating the Louisiana Bar exam. Jim spent his spare time playing golf and bridge, raucously rooting for the LSU Tigers, reading St. Paul's epistles and writing poetry. He was an active member of AA, giving support to many. He attended Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Jim was predeceased by his parents and his first wife, Sheila Roger. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Connie; his three children, James Bodenheimer of Shreveport, Rebecca (Eric) Beach of Kingsport, Tennessee, and Christine Bodenheimer of Morganton, North Carolina. He is also survived by his sisters, Elizabeth (Don) Lewis, Ann Fleming, and Laura Bodenheimer; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 24, at Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Entombment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be son-in-Law, Eric Beach and grandsons: Ben, Andrew and John Mark Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to AA or a charity of your choosing.
