Cotton Valley, LA - The Sun rose for Mike D. Chandler on July 31, 1939 and the sun set for him on May 5, 2014. Mike lived a long full life. He retired form Penrod Drilling Company after 30 plus years and many miles of travel. Mike was a 2 time past master of Cotton Valley Lodge 335 F&AM, and a 32nd degree Mason El Karubah Shriner. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Benson Chandler; sons, Mickey Chandler and wife, Elaine, Ronald Chandler and wife, Leah; daughter Michele C. Reeves and husband, Ray Reeves, Jr.; grandchildren, Jennifer Chandler Maynor and husband, Mike, Ashley Chandler, Kaleb Chandler, Sarah Reeves, Garrett Reeves, Jesse Chandler and a great grandbaby due in November; sister, Ann C. Kaylor and husband, Willard; nephews, Mark Pryor and wife, Regina, Michael Pryor and wife, Sherry; and a host of great nephews, nieces and friends. Mr. Chandler was preceded in death by his parents, L.S. and Mary Lewis Chandler.Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM at New Sarepta Baptist Church, Sarepta, LA with Bro. Marty Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Cotton Valley Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA Pallbearers will be Sarah Reeves, Kaleb Chandler, Garrett Reeves, Mike Maynor, Mark Pryor, Michael Pryor, Teddy Holloway, and Don Fuller.
