Obituary for Wilbur Lee Thomason Jr
Our loving father, Wilbur Lee Thomason Jr., passed away at age 57 on the evening of Friday, July 3, 2015 at 3:37pm in his home in Greenwood, Louisiana surrounded by his family, after a short battle with stage 4 lung cancer.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at Lewis Funeral Home at 808 Butler Street, Springhill, Louisiana on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 2:30pm with a graveside service immediately following at Cotton Valley Cemetary. Visitation services will be held the night before on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 5pm to 7pm. Officiating will be done by his brother Ed Thomason. The family asks to honor our father by wearing camo and blue jeans on the day of the funeral.

Will was born October 30, 1957 in Cotton Valley, Louisiana to Wilbur (aka Buddy) and Evelyn Kwiatkowski Thomason. After his parents passed away when he was 18 and 19 years old, he bought a trailer and land then moved to the country where he resided in Greenwood for almost 40 years raising his family and doing hobbies that he loved. Will worked for General Motors in Shreveport from June 27, 1983 to September 30, 2012 installing front windshields then later transitioned to loading a conveyer-belt with windshields for a robot to install. He then retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. Will enjoyed the outdoors where he could hunt deer, squirrel, hog, rabbit; fish, target practice and relax mowing the grass. He loved riding his four-wheeler in the yard and around the deer camp as well as road trips on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Everyone that knew him will never forget his smile, laugh, sense of humor, bud light and the love he had for his family. His family will cherish all their times together with him. He deeply loved his daughters, grandson, wife, brother, family and friends.

Preceding Will in death was his father, Wilbur Thomason Sr.; mother, Evelyn Thomason; grandson, Landen Mathews; and the mother of his children MaLinda Thomason.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Ashley Bass and husband, Brian, Allison Mathews and husband, David; his grandson Hunter Mathews; his wife Ann Thomason; his brother, Ed Thomason and wife Anita.

Pallbearers: Ronnie Benoit, Benny McAdoo, Mitch Deleo, Curtis Tisdale, Keith Sandlin, Josh Sandlin and Sean Harville.

Will's family wishes to thank the Christus Schumprt staff at Highland Hospital, The Cancer Center and Robyn with Hospice as well as Balentine Transportation staff for taking care of our loved one with compassion and dignity. In lieu of flowers Will asks for everyone to donate to the American Caner Society for Lung Cancer.
